Today there are 1.2 billion people around the globe who are illiterate largely due to a lack of access to education. 72% of those illiterate are women. We, in the US, have similar concerns about the education of girls and young women,and their ability to live lives that are self determined.

In an effort to develop my capacity to share yoga, learning and healing with girls who are involved in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems in Philadelphia, I have joined this yoga teacher training and service project.

Make a donation to my campaign and help to improve the literacy among girls in Nepal. If we can make this contribution internationally, I am confident that we will also be able to turn our eyes to girls in Philadelphia.
