As some of you may know, I have started a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training course with Beyond Asana. .

Beyond Asana has teamed up with BuildOn to build a school in Nepal. My goal is to raise 5000 dollars to contribute to this school.

BuildOn is an organization that is making a real difference in the world. They have afterschool youth service programs here in the US , putting youth in service and building schools in developing countries.

Here, youth contribute intensive local service. Helping the homeless, seniors and children in their communities. 95% of graduating seniors in BuildOn have gone on to college since the year 2000.

Abroad, BuildOn has built more than 400 schools. BuildOn is currently building schools in : Haiti, Malawi, Mali, Nepal, Nicaragua, and Senegal.

I use to dream of going to Nepal. Many years ago, I attended the Banff Mountain film festival a few times and after hearing such legends as Reinhold Messner and Sir Edmund Hillary talk about Everest, I dreamt of trekking to base camp.

My dream of Nepal is quite different now.

I will be travelling to the Kailali District in the Seti zone, in the far west of Nepal. Far from Everest or Katmandu.

I will have the privilege to work side by side with villagers in western Nepal to help them build a school.

I will have the honor of living with a host family in a rural village and learning about their culture while making a direct and lasting impact by helping to bring literacy to hundreds of people.

Any contribution that you can make to this goal will be most appreciated and you too will be participating in positive change in the world.
