This August, I will be travelling with 29 fellow GE colleagues to Nicaragua to build schools in two deserving villages. As a team, we are excited for this awesome opportunity to connect with a new culture and make a lasting impact within their community.
Despite enjoying growth in regards to health and economy over the last twenty years, according to the UN's Human Development Index Nicaragua remains the second poorest country in the western hemisphere. 79.9% of the population earns less than $2 per day, and a disproportionately large number of those living in poverty are women. Providing access to education to two remote Nicaraguan villages can therefore change the lives of hundreds of children, and entire communities, currently living in poverty.
Our team seeks to raise $85,000 to support the construction of both schools, and I have set a personal goal of $3,000 to contribute to our cause. Any donation you are able to make to my campaign, however small, would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you very much for your support!
