Today there are 1.2 billion people around the globe who are illiterate largely due to a lack of access to education. 72% of those illiterate are women. Providing access to education for even one remote village can change the lives of hundreds of children living in poverty year-after-year.
The Kondwani Kindergarten is making a difference in the Njovu Village, a remote community in the Nkhata Bay area of Malawi, Africa. Teacher Cathy Maya is teaching the children a love for learning, and wants the creative-thinking, problem-solving techniques she uses to instill a love of learning into the children in her care. Soon, adult literacy classes will be offered to the parents and care-givers in this village as well.
Make a donation to our campaign and help to break this cycle of poverty, illiteracy and low expectations through service and education! Thank you for your support!
